Materials Needed:
Clear plastic tote
Clear plastic tote lid (or plastic wrap)
Plastic trays or containers (for planting)
Potting soil or seed-starting mix
Seeds or plant cuttings
Steps:
Prepare the Tote: Clean out the inside of the tote with mild soap and water or a cloth soaked in rubbing alcohol. If you plan to store the greenhouse outside, consider cutting holes in the bottom for drainage.
Fill with Soil: Fill plastic trays or containers with potting soil or seed-starting mix.
Plant Seeds or Cuttings: Plant your seeds or insert plant cuttings into the soil. Place the trays or containers inside the tote.
Mist: Use a spray bottle to mist the dirt or cuttings.
Cover: Place the lid on the tote to create a greenhouse-like environment or wrap the top with clear plastic wrap.
Place in Light: Put the shoebox in a location with adequate light, but avoid direct sunlight which can overheat the enclosed space.
Monitor: Check the seeds or cuttings regularly, and water when soil is dry to the touch.
