DIY: Glass Jar Water Propagation Station

DIY glass jar propagation

Materials Needed:

  • Clear glass jar

  • Water

  • Plant cuttings (such as pothos, philodendron, or mint)

  • Rubber bands or tape (optional)

Steps:

  1. Prepare the Jars: Fill a clear glass jar with room-temperature water, leaving enough room for the nodes of your plant cuttings to be submerged.

  2. Insert Cuttings: Take your plant cuttings and place them into the water, ensuring that the nodes (where roots will form) are submerged.

  3. Support (Optional): If needed, use rubber bands or tape to secure the cuttings in place on the rim of the jar.

  4. Place in Light: Put the mason jars in a location with indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight, as it may cause algae growth in the water.

  5. Monitor and Change Water: Check the water level regularly and ensure the roots are always submerged. Change the water every few days to prevent stagnation.
